A view inside the mind of a killer's parent
I'm unfamiliar with the case beyond what was posted at Penny Arcade over the last two days, but here is an interesting circumstance that deserves observation.
The Gist: A 15-year-old boy kills a homeless person and blames video games. Apparently, the media pounces on the hot issue. One of the lads at Penny Arcade (and probably many gamers) react.
Then the stepmother of the convicted teen writes a letter to PA telling her side. It runs apparently unedited on PA's front page.
Now hopefully someone in the media will find this and investigate the basics (i.e. is the letter legit, did the parents do all that is noted within, etc) and it will generate a bit of debate. Hopefully the PA gents will track this a bit (if there's any follow-up that is) and we'll see another grass-roots news story birthed.
